When Campey Turf Care Systems was asked by Gary Clowes Course Manager at Macclesfield Golf Course to provide free Campey 'T' shirts for a group of young school children on an adventure trip, they were happy to oblige. Macclesfield GC is a long standing customer of Campeys with a good, solid working relationship. Over the years they have purchased many items of equipment including; a New Holland TN60DA tractor with loader, Ransomes G-plex greensmower and Saxon triple mower.
However, it was no great surprise when they realised that the expedition was actually Gary's - he has a reputation for seeking out adventure and embracing the bizarre. The photos of the children were taken in one of the remotest parts of New Guinea which Gary and his wife Romana had travelled over ten days to reach in search of natural unspoiled environments. "We wanted to experience a completely different existence from our normal day to day lives." Said Gary "It is one of the planets most inaccessible places. This voyage was exciting, dangerous yet incredibly rewarding. A trip of a lifetime."
Their journey was initially by truck followed by three days in a motorised canoe on the Upper Setik River to reach their destination. They stayed in the village of the Kwoma tribe where many of the children had never seen a white person before.
It would appear that they managed to recover from the shock of Gary in their midst and as these photos prove, Campey Turf Care will go to the ends of the earth to provide excellent products and service.
