Stourbridge's Pedmore CC is looking forward to giving its coaching sessions a boost having won a brand new Paceman Bowling Machine through total-play Ltd's online store thecricketgroundshop.co.uk
Club member and coach Dan Such entered the Facebook prize draw in May, and was randomly selected as the winner by former Sussex, Glamorgan, Western Australia and Zimbabwe batsman Murray Goodwin.
The West Midlands club is now the proud owner of a Paceman Original bowling machine plus 12 Paceman Light balls - worth a combined £234.90. The club will certainly make full use of its prize, as Dan explains:
"A new bowling machine will be another great addition for Pedmore Cricket Club! It will allow cricketers of all ages to improve their skills and get more confidence in a controlled environment that is safe and fun. For coaches, the self-feeding mechanism will allow them to observe and analyse performance thoroughly, instead of having to worry about continuously feeding the correct delivery to the players."
The Paceman Original is one of several bowling machines from the Paceman stable available via thecricketgroundshop, which stocks an extensive range of coaching and training aids. Product development manager and former Yorkshire cricketer, Anthony Burton, says:
"The Paceman range is fantastic - they represent great value, bringing quality bowling machines available to grassroots clubs. The potential long-term effect of this cannot be underestimated - in addition to helping league clubs seriously boost their training and up the quality and consistency of play, access to this kind of equipment can only be a good thing for youth cricket and the future of the sport. Who knows, a player of Murray's calibre may among the youngsters at Pedmore and this could help hone the early skills they'll need to make it to the professional game!"
