Dennis Helps Brazil Prepare for 2014 FIFA World Cup
Leading British manufacturer Dennis Mowers has won a prestigious order to supply over thirty G860 34" professional cylinder mowers, complete with a range of interchangeable cassettes, to help prepare all twelve stadia at the forthcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Supplied through the company's dealer Greenext, who are based in Sao Paulo - home of the opening game on 12th June, the turf maintenance machines will be used throughout the duration of the 64 matches at twelve stadia including Belo Horizonte, Brazilia, Cuiaba, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Natal, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Sao Paulo.
The manufacturer worked closely with Greenext and the three contractors who were chosen to maintain the facilities; ensuring the required high standards for each pitch are rigorously met. The G860 machine complete with an eight-bladed cutting cassette and tungsten tipped verticutter was then specified as one of the key turf maintenance pieces of equipment.
With a rich heritage of producing professional mowers which are renowned for their quality of cut, performance, reliability and versatility, the Dennis G860 has six quick changeover cassette options including scarifiers, verticutters, brushes, spikers, and slitters as well as 6 or 8 bladed cutter cassettes giving ultimate flexibility and a single power unit for many day-to-day maintenance tasks.
This versatility coupled with low ground pressure, at just 166kgs, and manoeuvrability makes the G860 the first choice for many top sporting venues around the world, including the previous World Cup finals in 2010.
Prior to the majority of the machines arriving in Brazil, sales managers Toby Clarke and Ewen Wilson, gave a number of comprehensive practical demonstrations to the contractors and their operatives explaining pitch presentation with height of cut, frequency, mowing stripes - with presentation a key goal, machine adjustment and safe operation.
"It became clear from an early stage that, because of the different types of grass species in Brazil, the tungsten tipped verticutter cassette would be an extremely important tool," said Ewen. "Major sporting venues across the world are choosing Dennis because of the superior quality of our machines and our first class product training.
After the success of the World Cup in South Africa, where Dennis also provided equipment, we are pleased to continue our relationship with supplying world class turf maintenance equipment. We take great pride in being able to support large-scale events such as this and are very proud to fly the British flag over in Brazil."
