Several fundraising initiatives, including a golf day and legends night, were cut off by Covid.

Town say they have lost approximately £20,000 in income over the last 12 months.

The club recently launched a Crowdfunder project in an attempt to raise £18,000 to refurbish the Groundsman's shed at their Bennetthorpe ground.

And they have just smashed through their target - with the current amount raised standing at £18,943.

Director of cricket James Ward told the Free Press: "Covid has cancelled all our key fundraising initiatives over the last 12 months, totalling approximately £20,000 in lost income.

"Over the last five years we've worked hard on fundraising to improve our facilities for the community, installing a new three-lane astro turf practice facility, improving social and seating areas and refurbishing the two-lane astro turf nets which have come at a large cost.

"We were planning to refurbish the Groundsman's shed over the last 12 months with monies we had fundraised but Covid cancelled our annual golf day, legends night, race night, annual sponsorship deals and much more. We have therefore been unable to carry out the much needed works. The shed is run down and not fit for purpose."

RG Group continue their support as main sponsor but the club would like to hear from other businesses interested in forming a partnership. Email: wardy.1984@hotmail.co.uk.

A number of rewards are available to purchase, including Amazon and M&S vouchers, tickets to Yorkshire CCC and various food and drink packages.
