Dutch Cities go to X-Tremes for clean synthetic surfaces.
Redexim has extended its innovative range of artificial surface maintenance machinery with the X-Treme Clean brushing machine.
Designed for firm synthetic surfaces where the sand infill acts as a stability mat, such as tennis courts and hockey and football pitches, the X-Treme Clean uses contrarotating circular brushes arranged in threes to vigorously brush the mat.
Used as part of the regular maintenance regime, the firm brushes remove algae, weeds and moss. The brushes also decompact the top layer making it more permeable so that water can drain away more easily. Regular use can prevent agglutination of the top layer and significantly extend the lifespan of a synthetic turf surface.
The first X-Treme Clean was bought by the City of Rotterdam who uses it as part of a scheduled renovation operation.
They bring the sand infill to the surface of the carpet with the X-Treme Clean, and then clean the sand with Redexim's Verti-Top Vac.
Easy and economical to use, the X-Treme Clean is availabel in 2 versions with working widths of 1.2 and 1.8m with two and three brush rotors respectively.
Weighing in at just 225 and 300kg, horsepower requirements are 18 and 25hp, matching compact tractors.
The cities of Amsterdam-North and Lisse, famous for the international flower exhibition "the Keukenhof", purchased their own X-Treme Cleans early 2009, and will put it to good use on a substantial number of synthetic pitches.
