Gog Magog 0008.jpgKerran Daly, Courses Manager at the 36-hole Gog Magog Golf Club near Cambridge, has taken delivery of two all-electric E-Z-GO MPT golf utility vehicles from the Fulbourn branch of local dealer Ernest Doe and Sons.

The two vehicles, which are being used for general greenkeeping duties on the Old and Wandlebury courses, have been purchased with environmental considerations to the fore. The 400 acre area occupied by the courses is a SSSI site with a full environmental management plan in place to protect it. These new MPTs complement this plan as there are no waste oils, no filters and they are emission free at the point of use.

"These are excellent vehicles, fit for purpose and excellent from a maintenance standpoint," Kerran Daly said. "They have very few moving parts, so they require minimal spares, keeping operational costs at a minimum. We've had these modified with the optional electric lift kits for raising the load bed."Gog Magog 0006.jpg

Kerran, who is a BIGGA Master Greenkeeper, has been Courses Manager at Gog Magog for the past nine years and heads a team of 12, with six greenkeepers dedicated to each course. He began his career at Berkhampstead before taking up the Head Greenkeeper post at East Brighton. He then moved on to Staverton Park in Northamptonshire and then to Salisbury Golf Club in Wiltshire where he spent 12 years before taking up his current role in1999.
