After a long cricket season, work began two weeks ago preparing the practice areas at Leicester County Cricket Club for re-seeding. The ground was scarified and re-sown with an all ryegrass mixture; 50% Evita/50% Margarita, supplied by DLF Trifolium Ltd. The germination was quick and uniform as can be seen from the pictures.
Work has now begun on the main square. Again, scarification followed by seeding and top dressing will take place. Andrew Whiteman, Head Groundsman was pleased with last years results when using the same mixture, saying the pace and bounce of the wicket was very good.
