Barenbrug Roadshow1The final destination for Barenbrug's annual seminar tour of the UK was Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in Wokingham, recognised as one of the finest inland courses to be built in Britain in the past 20 years.

Specialist grass seed breeder Barenbrug has been bringing its expertise and practical experiences direct to turf professionals through a series of roadshow events held at key trial and customer venues for the past two years.

Having ended on a high at Bearwood Lakes, this year's tour also visited top venues Ballybunion Golf Club in County Kerry, Turnberry Golf Resort in Ayrshire, Castle Stuart Golf Links in Inverness and The National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire.

Greenkeepers, groundsmen and other turf professionals in attendance were treated to presentations by research and development manager Dr David Greenshields and his colleagues on subjects such as the findings of Barenbrug's extensive golf greens trials. The venues' course managers also gave fascinating course walks, while practical demos came courtesy of Graden, Toro, Vredo and John Deere.

Commenting on the success of the roadshow, David Greenshields says: "A big thanks to all those who hosted, supported and attended these events. The roadshow is an invaluable way for us to share our trials results and breeding breakthroughs, but also provides a great networking opportunity for those keen to learn from some of the best greenkeepers in the business. Seeing the latest overseeding machinery in action was also very beneficial, I'm sure. All in all, this year's roadshow was a great success."
