As the autumn and winter approach, many turf care professionals' thoughts will turn to the battles against compaction and/or drainage. Charterhouse Turf Machinery offer a number of solutions in this field, with one machine of particular note being the Redexim Verti-Drain 1513. This is at the smaller end of the Verti-Drain range and is a very fast and versatile machine that can work to an impressive depth of 150mm. This 1.3m model can be connected to a low horse power tractor or used with the self-propelled Redexim Carrier, which will also be on show.

With regard to overseeders, Charterhouse has an extensive range from Redexim including the Double Disc Overseeder 1430 which was launched at Saltex last year. This has a working width of 1.4m and effectively delivers the seed accurately into the soil via discs, spaced 30mm apart, which cut slits in the ground. It drops and buries the seed up to 20mm (3/4") deep in the ground. Also worth looking at is Redexim Rink DS800 topdresser with a hopper capacity of 0.8cu.m and a spreading width of 12m. Available trailed or for fitting to a utility vehicle.

From the Garden portfolio, Charterhouse will also be showing the Contour Sand Injection (CSI) unit. The flagship Graden machine, the CSI has the ability to scarify to any depth between 1mm-40mm whilst simultaneously backfilling the grooves with either sand or a combination of sand and seed. Powered by a 20hp V-Twin Honda engine, the CSI has a hydrostatic transmission and a 100kg sand hopper. Its multi-functionality saves on the time and reduces play downtime without causing any detrimental effect to ground firmness.

In the field of synthetic turf maintenance there are Redexim VertiArt products from simple brushing to complex infill removal, cleaning and replacement. Specialists will be on hand to give advice as to the correct machine to choose.
