Robert Heath, Contracts Manager of Souters Sports, commented, "With contract hire and the maintenance programme we have selected, we have a known fixed cost for the upcoming season which is good from our planning viewpoint."

"We looked at the major machinery manufacturers when we prepared our initial requirements and we then extensively researched the dealers that we felt could best serve our requirements. We eventually selected John Deere and F.G Rowland, most importantly for their first-class service and after-sales support, which is critical for us to continue to offer our services to our clients."

With over 30 years' experience, F.G Rowland's hire fleet includes over 225 tractors, skid steers, tipping trailers, vacuum tankers, manure spreaders, set-aside toppers, pasture toppers, wood chippers, post drivers and road brushes.

The tractor fleet is made up of John Deere Premium tractors, all of which are under 2 years old. Rowcrop wheels and turf tyres are available for most tractors.
JCB 526S, 531-70S & 535-95 handlers are available with a variety of attachments. Skid steers are available in two widths 36" and 60", along with tipping and dump trailers from 8 to 16 tonne. Set-aside & pasture toppers with cutting widths of 6ft to 9ft and Wood chippers capable of accepting branches up to 10" diameter are also available.

Frank Rowland, Managing Director at F.G Rowland added, "We have been supplying Souters with equipment for a number of years now. They have the foresight to take advantage of a contract hire arrangement with a comprehensive maintenance package which has proved to be a favoured option with some of our other customers which include local authorities and contractors. The appeal that contractors have is the fixed cost aspect with the knowledge that if any machinery does fail, we'll be there to repair it or replace it if we have to take it back to the depot."
