Fairways roadshow drives across Scotland

The Fairways Roadshow drove across Scotland recently with a series of events held in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow to help promote the product range and service offering from the recently appointed Ransomes Jacobsen dealer.

The first port of call was Hazelhead Park in Aberdeen where over 60 invited guests attended with the opportunity to view and test drive a range of products from Ransomes Jacobsen. Predominantly from the local authority sector there was much interest in the new Ransomes Spider remotely operated Slope mower; the first opportunity for many to see the new machine, up close and personal!

On completion of a very successful day, the roadshow rolled out of Aberdeen heading south to Kings Acre Golf Club on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

After an initial welcome by David Rae and David Withers, the managing director's of Fairways GM and Ransomes Jacobsen, the rest of the morning at Kings Acre was devoted to product demonstrations, ride and drives and technical discussions followed by a superb lunch in the Kings Acre clubhouse. In the afternoon Claude Harmon, son of renowned golf coach Butch Harmon, conducted a golf clinic and aside from the serious instruction, he amazed many of the guests with his ability to hit a golf ball in any direction, with any club, left-handed or right-handed, while standing on one leg!

All the equipment was loaded onto the transport vehicles and head west, this time to Haggs Castle Golf Club in Glasgow, a former venue of the Scottish Open. Equally as successful as the previous two days and with a similar format over 30 guests enjoyed a really memorable day. Commenting following the departure of the final guest at Haggs Castle, David Rae said,

"These past three days have surpassed our wildest expectations. We've had over 140 visitors at the three locations and made many new contacts as well as meeting many customers we know very well.

"From our launch at Scotsturf last November through to the present has been a whirlwind of activity. This latest roadshow has demonstrated that we are a vibrant, professional and determined organisation and the way that we have been accepted by the turf professional community across Scotland has been particularly pleasing."
