Find me a job! - Mark Chapman

Position sought - Greenkeeper (approx. 18 hours per week)

Location - Cambridge area

Mark Chapman, the tenth person to feature in our 'Find me a job!' campaign, is a qualified landscape gardener looking for the opportunity to turn his hand to greenkeeping on a permanent basis.

He has run his own landscape gardening business for the past six years and is about to become an apprentice on a NVQ work-based learning course at the College of West Anglia.

Mark needs 2 - 3 days of paid work on a golf course, working approximately 18 hours per week, to fulfill his learning requirements and to support himself financially. The golf course environment isn't alien to him. As well as playing golf regularly, he has been working on a voluntary basis as an assistant greenkeeper at his local golf club in order to gain valuable experience. The course manager is willing to provide a reference to any prospective employer.

Mark has a City & Guilds qualification in garden design and NPTC certificates for organic gardening, growing vegetables and salads, and lawns, landscapes and structures. He also has NVQ certificates for first aid, fire safety, health and safety and ECDL computing.

Prior to becoming self-employed, he worked as a grounds maintenance operative for Cambridgeshire County Council.

He has his own transport and is willing to travel, providing it is within 20 miles of his Cambridgeshire address

If you can help Mark, please contact him on 07546 817633 or email mjn4ever@hotmail.co.uk. Alternatively, please email Ellie Tait at ellie@pitchcare.com and we'll put you in touch!
