Position sought - Groundsman/Greenkeeper

Location - London area

Our 'Find me a job!' campaign has helped a number of talented turf managers find jobs. Now, we need help to find an Aussie turf manager a permanent position in the London area. Rob Mellor is an Australian greenkeeper/groundsman who has recently relocated to the UK in the hope of finding a job in the turf industry.

He is a qualified turf greenkeeper and plant horticulturist with several years' experience. Turf management has been a family tradition as his father is Head Groundsman at a Private School College and Golf Club in Sydney, with over 30 years' experience. Rob followed him into the industry as he loved the idea of working in the sports industry and with turf, and has had a good understanding about working with turf from a young age.

Rob relocated to London in late July. He was previously Head Groundsman/Curator at The White City Lawn Tennis Club where he was responsible for 13 lawn tennis courts and seven artificial courts, plus the surrounds and gardens. Previous to working at the lawn tennis club, he completed four years' study and work at The Australian Golf Club as a greenkeeper.

"I have a passion for turf and have moved to London to work at one of the many great venues in the UK. I would like to make a commitment to a club on my Tier 5 work visa, and really look forward to using my skills and knowledge in a new position.

Rob has an exemplary CV. In addition to his turf-related qualifications from TAFE in NSW, the largest vocational education and training provider in Australia and one of the best in the world, he has a Senior First Aid certificate, Occupational Health and Safety Green Card, chainsaw operation licence, Chemical Application AQF Certificate III (equivalent to PA2a certificate), an unrestricted driving and motorcycle licence and a forklift operation licence. He can supply references to any potential employer upon request.

If you can help Rob, please contact him on 07530 114683 or email robmellor2024@hotmail.com. Alternatively, please email Ellie Tait at ellie@pitchcare.com and we'll put you in touch! Thank you.
