Fleet of Iseki Compact Tractors for Team Maintenance Services

Peter Driverin Industry News

TMS 015ATeam Maintenance Services Ltd, (TMS) the grounds maintenance contractors based at Mitchell near Newquay in Cornwall has taken delivery of a fleet of Iseki compact tractors and ride-on mowers from local dealer, Devon Garden Machinery. Iseki tractors are marketed in the UK by Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, a Textron Inc (NYSE:TXT) company.

The fleet, delivered recently for the start of the 2012 season, consists of three SXG22 ride-on mowers with high tip collectors and two TXG23 compact tractors, one fitted with a Lewis front loader.

John Julyan is the managing director of the family-owned business, which he established 14 years ago after returning from five years missionary work in North Africa, Portugal and Spain.

"We have several machines from various manufacturers of these compact ride-on rotary and selected Iseki this time around for a combination of reasons; they are robust, well built and light enough that they can be carried by our 3.5 tonne trucks, with ample capacity for additional equipment," he said.

"This is important as our school contract work has increased significantly over the past five years and we carry a variety of equipment to disparate locations across the county. Another important consideration was the price; both Devon Garden Machinery and Ransomes Jacobsen were flexible during the negotiations.

TMS 008A"I was particularly impressed by the demonstration of the SXG22 I had towards the end of 2011. It was a very wet day and its capacity to collect in those conditions persuaded me it was the right machine for us."

John Julyan and his family are committed Christians and the company is run on an ethical and moral basis; with regular donations gifted to various charitable causes. From the early beginnings as a one-man domestic garden maintenance business to one of the largest privately-owned contractors in Cornwall, commitment to the customer has been the driving force behind the company's success. A major client is Interserve plc, the preferred bidder for Cornwall County Council's schools PFI scheme back in 2003, with TMS providing grounds maintenance services to 40 schools in the county. Services include grass cutting, pitch marking, hedge trimming, landscaping and tree work.
