Springvale Cricket Club is today celebrating a £13,357.00 funding boost from SUEZ Communities Trust.
The funding will allow the club to purchase a much needed mower. Currently club volunteers use dilapidated machinery which leaves behind grass cuttings meaning the site needs to be raked causing blisters galore!
Antony Potts, Chairman of the club who is leading the project and the one with most blisters on his hands said, 'Thanks to the SUEZ Communities Trust the new machine will now enable the cricket clubs outfield to be cut in half the time previously taken and will also provide a first class finish leaving no grass cuttings behind.'
Marek Gordon, Chairman of SUEZ Communities Trust added "SUEZ Communities Trust provides funding awards through the Landfill Communities Fund. This important source of funding has been available since 1997 and has provided such worthy projects with more than £1.4 billion. We were delighted to be able to offer funding to Springvale Cricket Club."
