Warren Bevan - comes from cowboy stock, but don't get him started; the Redbull does that!


Who are you? Warren Bevan, Course Manager at Lancaster Golf Club.

Family status? Married to Nicola for thirteen years. Yellow labrador called Oakley and three cats, Mara, Bear and Ray.

Who's your hero and why? Probably my dad; he was a cowboy back in the sixties for several years in Canada.

What would you change about yourself? Learn to relax more; I'm always on the go.

What's your guilty pleasure? Collecting Star Wars stuff.

What's been the highlight of your career so far? A lot of things come to mind, but hosting the Open Qualifier was special.

If you could go anywhere right now, where would it be? A canoe trip in Canada.

What's the best part of your job? Being outside with nature

… and the worst? RAIN!

Do you have a lifetime ambition? To swim with a great white shark.

Favourite record, and why? The Number of the Beast (Iron Maiden album). It has my favourite song on; 'Hallowed be thy name'.

Who would you choose to spend a romantic evening with? Jennifer Aniston ... if I wasn't married.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Go to Canada ... oh, and buy Lancaster Golf Club.

If you were to describe yourself as a musical instrument, what would you be and why? An electric guitar - can be loud and crazy as well as quiet and calm.

Which three people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party? All of the Duck Dynasty family.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why? Indiana Jones, looks so much fun.

Do you have any bad habits? A can of Redbull every morning.

... or any good ones? Ask someone else that one.

Do you go to bed worrying about the next day's workload? No.

What are you reading at the moment? Ray Mears, 'My Outdoor Life'.

What's the best advice you have ever been given? DYB DYB DYB (Do Your Best) and Every day is Captain's Day.

What's your favourite smell? A woodland in spring.

What do you do in your spare time? Hiking, canoeing and bushcraft.

What's the daftest work related question you have ever been asked? "How hot does the greens iron get?"

What's your favourite piece of kit? My Landrover Discovery with roof tent.

What three words would you use to describe yourself? Happy, happy, happy.

What talent would you like to have? To play the guitar like Iron Maiden.

What law/legislation would you like to see introduced? Don't get me started!
