Give your grass a boost with Climate Cover TGC

Press Releasein Industry News

Climate CoverWith the winter sports season underway and the leaves starting to fall from the trees, the first frosts will soon start to make an appearance. With this in mind, frost protection systems to help ensure play can continue in all but the harshest of cold snaps will no doubt be a hot topic among groundsmen at this time of year.

Climate Cover's 'Total Growth Cover (TGC)', a revolutionary all-in-one germination and ground frost protection system, developed by sports turf specialist total-play Ltd, could provide the ultimate solution. Not only does is help protect the playing surface from frost, but it actively encourages growth of the grass plant by creating a proven germination and propagation environment. Business Development Manager at total-play Ltd, James Coney explains: "The Climate Cover TGC was designed by groundsmen, for groundsmen. We spotted a niche in the market as many existing frost protection covers, while they did protect the playing surface from frost, did little to encourage - and, in many cases, inhibited - plant growth. A lot of time and effort went into the design and testing of this system, which allows the pitch to breathe while offering a series of multi-layer configurations that can provide play-ready surfaces down to -6°.

"Alongside performance, we also took into account ease of use - trying to deploy covers with fiddly fixtures and fittings in freezing temperatures is no joke. TGC has been designed to be easy to handle even in the coldest conditions and, when used in conjunction with and inflation tube, even large covers can be deployed by one person."

In addition to offering Climate Cover TGC for sale, total-play Ltd offers a special 'hire' service; whereby clubs can hire a TGC on an ad-hoc basis should any of their big fixtures look at risk due to inclement weather. Also, in addition to full pitch covers, smaller covers for goal mouths or shaded areas are available if more appropriate.

Suitable for football, hockey, rugby and cricket pitches, race courses and tennis courts, TGC is in regular use by clients that include premier league football grounds, National Hunt race courses and the Lawn Tennis Association.
