Glamorgan groundsman Exton expects Ashes surface to be pitch perfect
As baptisms of fire go, preparing a wicket for the Ashes opener in your first full season on the county circuit is quite a challenge.
But Keith Exton - who left Oakham School in Leicestershire to become the Glamorgan groundsman - couldn't be happier.
Grantham-born Exton was replacing the long-serving Len Smith, who left Glamorgan in controversial circumstances after last September's one-day international between England and South Africa.
"The Ashes is the pinnacle of any groundsman's career - and there's going to be a lot of interest," admitted Exton.
