Greenkeepers Survey on Michrodochium Patch Disease

Dear Greenkeeper,

European policy regarding disease control in turf is evolving. To be effective, any new policy must acknowledge perspectives and behaviours from the field.

In order to promote more effective policy, we invite you to participate in our pilot survey on the strategies adopted by golf greenkeepers to control Microdochium patch disease.

This survey is part of a EU-funded project on policies for sustainable development (contract QLRT-2002-02718). It is implemented by Eco Innovation, a not-for-profit R&D organisation (eco-innovation.net), in collaboration with Royal Holloway (University of London).

We have designed a concise, user-friendly questionnaire and posted it on www.eco-innovation.net/mpatch. We have left many questions optional in order to make completion possible in less than 10 minutes.

We intend to leave this questionnaire open until Monday 22 May 2006 but it would be extremely useful if we could receive as many replies as possible by Wednesday 17 May, in order to take stock of initial results and start planning for a replication in other countries.

We formally ensure you that your contact details and your data WILL NOT be circulated outside our research project or for any commercial purposes. Moreover the source of all data will be kept confidential.

The data will inform researchers, trainers and policy-makers. They will ultimately benefit turf managers and golfers.

You will be offered to register for a free copy of the final research document. Please forward this message to greenkeepers you think may be interested in providing answers.

Thank you in advance for your collaboration and we look forward to receiving your replies: www.eco-innovation.net/mpatch
