Groom-It brush for mainicured greens at Gracehill golf club
Gracehill Golf Course is considered to be one of the top 18 hole parkland courses in Ulster, if not all Ireland. Nestling in beautiful parkland outside the village of Stranocum near Ballymoney, it features American-style water hazards, many mature trees and immaculate greens.
To help keep the greens in their manicured condition, owner Jim Gillan, has recently purchased a Groom-It multi-purpose brush from Wiedenmann UK.
"We top dress our greens four to six times a year," says Jim, "and the Groom-It certainly does a much better job of brushing in than a conventional drag mat. It's easy to transport and can be hitched to virtually any item of kit with an engine! It's highly manoeuvrable and has extension wings which give it a 3.66 metre operating width and that means we can use it very effectively on our fairways, as well."
Gracehill Golf Club is 10 years old and has over 400 members. Previously a working farm, the old estate buildings have been painstakingly converted to form an excellent clubhouse incorporating modern facilities. The club hosted the Golf Union of Ireland Junior Championship in 2002 and the Seniors event in 2004.
