Grounds Training heading for Basingstoke in August

Jack Fishmanin Training & Education

Grounds Training was established ten years ago to provide a complete and unique service delivering training courses for the sports turf industry. In addition to open courses for individuals, we are also able to offer on-site, bespoke training for groups of four or more people.

As well as organising and delivering our portfolio of Pitchcare-designed turf maintenance and customised courses, Grounds Training also works with the industry's awarding bodies - Lantra and NPTC - to deliver a range of courses including Safe Use of Pesticides, Machinery and Turf Management.

On consecutive days in August we are holding a range of courses at Basingstoke Sports & Social Club.

The course details are as follows:

Monday, 21st August - Cricket Pitch Maintenance (Autumn & Winter)

Tuesday, 22nd August - Winter Sports Pitch Maintenance (Rugby & Football)

Both the above are one-day theory courses giving an overview of all processes, machinery and equipment required to produce and maintain a quality playing surface, always with an emphasis on Health and Safety. No practical work takes place on the day but time is spent out on the pitch to discuss its condition and any particular challenges.

Wednesday, 23rd August

In addition to the above Basic Turf Maintenance courses, we are holding an Initial Sports Line Marking course. The course will introduce the basic competencies for setting out sports markings from scratch, preparation and application of line marking and materials. It is designed to provide knowledge and understanding of the range of line marking machines and line marking materials available for use. A light practical session will take place to put your knowledge into practice.

Included for each course is a free, comprehensive manual (90+ pages) for your reference - RRP £40. Each course is Lantra accredited.

If you feel you, or any of your members, would benefit from these courses we would love to hear from you. Please contact our Training department on (01902) 440251 or via email info@groundstraining.com

We are currently looking for alternative venues to facilitate our courses.

If you feel your venue would be ideal for us to use, all we require is a suitable room, tea/coffee making facilities and a light buffet lunch. On the proviso that we successfully secure a minimum of six delegates onto the course (not including the instructor) we will offer you a FREE additional delegate place as a 'thank you' for the complimentary use of your facilities.
