Loughborough University, the UK's leading Sports University, have recently chosen Hayter machines to maintain the grass areas on the campus. Products chosen were the T424 five unit with 8 blade floating heads and the LT 324 three unit with 6 blade fixed heads.

The university not only caters for full time students studying a wide variety of courses but also provides training facilities for all types of sport and its facilities are used and enjoyed by sports enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. The facilities available and the standards of coaching are extremely high, so much so that over 30 of the British 2004 Olympic Team are either students or regularly train there. The job of looking after the grounds falls to Mark Freeman, Head Groundsman. Mark, who is a student himself and is studying for an M Sc in Sports Surface Technology at Cranfield, has over 40 acres of sports grounds and 125 acres of amenity turf to maintain to the highest standards. Like many people in his position, having to work on a tight budget means that machinery plays anHayterLoughboroughUniversit.jpg

Commenting on the purchase of the Hayter machines Mark said. "We have used just about every manufacturer's products over the years but we still evaluate each purchase carefully. This is the first time we have bought products from Hayter and we were impressed right from the outset with the performance and ease of maintenance on both machines. The Hayter dealer, Mitchells of Coalville, have supplied us many products over the years and their after sales service has been second to none. With this level of support, we had no hesitation in buying the Hayter products and have already noticed a marked improvement in standards."
