Head groundsman leaves Falkirk

IMG 1259Wherever he goes after Westfield, one of Falkirk football club's longest -serving members of staff is intent on ensuring the grass is always greener on the other side.

Head groundsman at the Falkirk Stadium, Jim Dawson, hung up his pitch-fork and fluorescent jacket for the final time on Saturday and is bound for pastures new in Edinburgh.

"It was an emotional day," he admitted to Heraldsport, three days before his 39th birthday.

He's given the team a platform to play on at both Brockville and the new stadium at Westfield, but will now turn his attention to the slightly different turf at the home of Scottish Rugby.
