IMG_1525.JPGShelton Sportsturf and Drainage Solutions formally launched their new Supertrencher+ range at SALTEX which they say is a truly advanced dedicated trenching machine for draining sportsfields.

This new machine combines loads of customer requested features which all add up to improved operator efficiency and opportunities for increased profitability.

Sportsmaster UK Ltd of Springfield Farm, Springfield Road, Penicuik, Midlothian, long term customers of Shelton and leaders in their field with over 12 years experience in greenkeeping and groundsmanship, were the first to spot this great opportunity and bought the very first machine in early 2010.

Their existing Shelton machine was giving them good service but they were looking for increased performance in wet conditions as is so often the case in Scotland.

Gavin Brown, Managing Director of Sportsmaster, who founded the company in July 2006 said recently "we have completed work this year that was impossible in previous years. For example we've just finished a job in Edinburgh that we couldn't have done before. The increased performance not only in wet conditions but also in the ease of operation and changeover of cutters, has enabled us to be far more competitive. Overall the new Supertrencher+ has increased our productivity by at least 50%."

Shelton, whose level of innovation is impressive, has invested heavily in recent years in delivering tangible performance improvements that deliver real benefits to their customers. For example, new two speed digging wheels have been included to provide improved operation in wet conditions enabling the operator to select settings that best suit the soil conditions and an improved transverse conveyor layout minimises the chance of blockages.

Shelton have also redesigned the digging wheel assembly reducing the time taken to change worn cutters and enabling operators to change cutters through the inspection hatch at the back of the trencher hood rather than from below.
