Independent Financial Advice for All Seasons

Simon Hannam, consultant with Hopwood Ash can offer you helpful and friendly advice regarding:

Simon is no stranger to the world of sports turf with over 7 year experience in this industry and has empathy with those who work in it

Money Monthly

PROTECTION - Accident, Sickness and Unemployment cover.

This simple policy gives you piece of mind should you be off work through illness or redundancy. It starts to give you a monthly payment after one month and is typically used to pay a benefit level to match the ongoing mortgage and associated costs. Benefits are paid for upto one year in the case of unemployment and can be for two years for illness.

INVESTMENTS - I.S.A. Season is here, Do Not Miss the Deadline

A person may chose to invest in one Maxi ISA or in three

separate Mini ISAs in any tax year. So do not miss the deadline of 05/04/02 for your current allocation, use it or lose it.

The current annual limit allows up to £3,000 to be invested in a stocks and shares Mini ISA, £1,000 in a cash deposit Mini ISA and £1,000 in a life assurance Mini ISA. Alternatively £7,000 may be invested in a Maxi ISA which may contain elements of all three types or stocks and shares only.

Maxi and Mini ISA options may not be mixed.

Please remember that it is very important to consider your attitude to risk before you consider any investment. With around 1,200 different funds to choose from the choice is huge and help is on hand by contacting Simon on the above e-mail.

PENSIONS - Buying a Property as a Pension

Many of my clients are keen to see a property as a way to providing for their retirement. Some of the hard work can be eased by talking with Simon who is experienced in this field and can help in selecting the mortgage and helpful tips on different ways of setting up the arrangements.

MORTGAGE - Bank of England Rates are at 4% and many lenders are offering competitive tracker rates just 0.75 and 1 % above this rate. The Aussie style mortgage is also encouraging many clients to seek current account mortgages with flexible overpayment sand under payments to match their financial commitments. Remortgaging could be the key to saving money.

Re-mortgaging could save over £65 per month on a £75,000, 25 year, repayment mortgage by moving from a 5.70% interest rate to a 4.10% interest rate fixed for one year with a fees free re-mortgage package

Typical APR 5.90%.

Fees free re-mortgage package includes free valuation and no legal costs.

Written quotations upon request. Broker Fees 0.25% of the loan amount. Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loans secured on it. Loans subject to status, type and valuation of property and insurance may be required. Mortgages and some aspects of protection are not regulated by the F.S.A.
