Is Green the new Black?

Tina Ribbansin Industry News
sowgreen pic The hosepipe ban of this summer brought home the problems associated with natural grass and how hard it is to keep it in any reasonable condition with bare patches and scorched dry turf doing nothing to set off the decking area or herbaceous border.

However, help is at hand in the form of artificial grass.

"Oh no" I hear the sceptics cry, but those who haven't experienced the new breeds of artificial turf first hand will be pleasantly surprised how much they have improved since the Astroturf of the 1980's.

Technical Surfaces, who have over 25 years experience within the synthetic surfaces industry have seen the massive improvement over the last few years and have launched a brand new product called 'SowGreen' to the leisure market. It uses not just one colour but a blend of tones to replicate the natural look of grass and once laid gives a swirling effect associated with natural turf.

SowGreen™ was recently exhibited at both the GLEE and Grand Designs Live exhibitions at the NEC and proved to be a real eye catcher. Jon Gunn, Technical Director commented 'When people first saw SowGreen™ they weren't entirely sure it wasn't natural grass and had to do a double take. People couldn't resist bending down and touching the grass and were pleasantly surprised just how soft it was to touch.'

Will mowing the lawn twice a week, watering, weeding and fertilising continue to be the preferred choice of the masses? Not when they see how good artificial lawns are.

Is green the new black? We certainly think so!

People can experience first hand the natural look and feel of SowGreen™ by getting in touch with Technical Surfaces who are looking for exclusive outlets to display their compact and attractive display unit on a promotion only basis without the need to carry stock.
