Kings School.JPGKings School in Ely have recently purchased two brand-new Kioti compact tractors to help with the maintenance and upkeep of their extensive 120 acre grounds.

The private school based in Cambridgeshire, chose to purchase the two 49 hp Kioti DK501C's when the time came to replace their existing Kubota and John Deere tractors. Grounds & Gardens Manager at Kings, Will Temple, said "We needed to update our existing tractors which had run their course, and quite simply the Kioti's offered the best package of horsepower, comfort and useability out of all the tractors that we had on demo. The tractors are so simple to drive and operate that the whole team are able to use them, and unlike other makes, there are no over-complicated electrics to go wrong!"

Nigel Clarke, Estates Bursar at Kings said: "The cab on the tractors are so spacious and offer fantastic all-round visibility. They are also extremely comfortable - almost too comfortable that sometimes we have trouble getting our guys out of them!

The tractors are used to maintain over 120 acres of grounds at the school, including 50 acres of sports fields that require daily maintenance. A huge benefit of buying the Kioti's was that they enabled Will and his team to carry out a range of different duties with the tractors, that had previously required five separate machines. Will said: "We needed to reduce the number of units that we were using for the different jobs. Kioti offered us the whole package for this. We also bought a front loader for the tractors which is fantastic even on the steepest inclines, it just keeps on going!"

Will's team of six grounds and gardens staff keep the Kioti's busy all-day every-day carrying out a range of different tasks including mowing, verti-draining, earth-moving and also towing their flail collector and trailer around the extensive grounds. "The Fenland location of our grounds means that our soil is so fertile that the grass grows at a tremendous rate, especially in the wet conditions that we have had this year and sometimes the grass needs cutting twice a day! Quite honestly, we would not have been able to cope with the demands of this without our Kioti's".

Kings bought the two DK501C's from local Kioti dealers Greenheath of Newmarket. Tom Clayton (Director, Greenheath) explains why the Korean tractors are such good sellers: "We are just entering our fourth year of selling Kioti's, part of what makes them such good sellers is the extensive range and accessories that are available. The biggest factor in their success though is definitely the value that RECO add to the package. The parts availability and service back-up that RECO provide is exceptional. In the beginning we encountered quite a few problems (caused by user error) and without the RECO support we would have struggled to overcome these. The back-up is fantastic and adds great value to their wide range of products"

Will said: "It's really reassuring to know that RECO have the parts availability and back-up. Sometimes we need to work over the weekends and just having the knowledge that we can get spare parts if we should need to is a great comfort".

RECO are the sole UK importer of Kioti tractors which all come with a full two-year unrestricted, all-inclusive and unlimited hours parts and labour warranty from RECO's highly trained staff - one of whom is Kioti's Worldwide Service Manager of the Year 2007 Award winner Chris Clark!
