West_Kil_5.jpgFounded in 1893, The West Kilbride Golf Club is a championship links course set on the beautiful Ayrshire coast. A private golf club, offering a challenging 18 holes of championship standard links golf, West Kilbride has just under 1000 members and is home to a host of championship tournaments.

With a 6548 yard course to maintain and develop, the club's Course Maintenance professionals have a grueling daily schedule to contend with that requires both dedication and expertise. Whilst reviewing its existing tractor fleet, the club's groundcare team highlighted a need for two compact tractors for winter work and general course maintenance duties.

Aware of Kubota's first class reputation for quality and reliability, the team lead by former BIGGA Board Member and Course Manager Jim Paton and Treasurer & Club Secretary Hamish Armour, tested Kubota's L5030 alongside other leading manufacturer brands.

From use with a verti drain to top dressing and other course maintenance applications, the powerful, lightweight 50HP L5030 is ideal for wide ranging use. Boasting the latest in engine, transmission and PTO technology and incorporating Kubota's revolutionary IntelliPanel information system, the L5030 not only delivers optimum power output, but also utilises advanced features to maximise fuel efficiency and productivity.

West Kilbride's 7 full time greenkeeping staff face long, demanding working hours and require much more than just versatility and power output from their machines. Ergonomically designed to reduce fatigue and enhance operator productivity, the L5030 is equipped with conveniently positioned, user responsive controls and multiple advanced features for maximum comfort.

Featuring the latest E-TVCS engine design combined with either fully synchronised, or the unique Glide Shift transmission, Kubota's L5030 delivers constant power with responsive speed changes to optimise efficiency. Furthermore, the optional integral cab provides a spacious working area, high visibility and air conditioning.

Impressed by the L5030's versatility, quality of build, ease of use and fuel efficiency, not to mention affordable price tag, West Kilbride's team concluded their evaluation with the decision to purchase two Kubota L5030s.

To fully utilise the capabilities of the L5030, the team opted for one of the machines to be fitted with the optional Kubota matched LA853 loader. Kubota manufactures its own mid mounted mowers, grass collectors and front loaders for all models to ensure optimum performance is achieved. A wide range of rear mounted matched implements from trailers to tillers are also available. West_Kil_4.jpg

West Kilbride Golf Club purchased the two Kubota L5030s from local dealership Hamilton Bros. "We have dealt with Hamilton Brothers for a number of years and we're very happy with the service we received" commented Hamish. We're always looking to improve the golf course and buying the Kubotas will help us do that. We're delighted with our purchase" he concluded.
