GTI launch.jpgThe latest launch from Lely UK is Gemini-Trident Irrigation (GTI), an innovative system designed to dramatically improve efficiency for a reduction in running costs.

Suitable for both new and refurbishment projects across an array of sports and amenity turf applications, the two systems - Gemini and Trident - couple a computerised central control system with decoder field hardware for simple, effective and economic irrigation management.

With water an increasingly costly resource, GTI's state-of-the-art management and maintenance system ensures greenkeepers and groundsmen can make optimum use of every last drop of this precious commodity. As well as accurately monitoring where water is going, how much is being applied and to which sprinklers, the software incorporates a host of features and reporting functions, such as radio remote control, water-flow management and detailed system diagnostics.

Sophisticated yet simple to operate, technophobes will particularly appreciate the Visual Irrigation Programme graphics (VIP) feature, which enables the Gemini and Trident controllers to display a full-colour map of the golf course, pitch or court layout, so that users can review and revise on-screen schedules and programs quickly and easily.

Previously available as part of the Toro Irrigation product stable, Lely is set to distribute GTI directly from its UK manufacturer Bailoy Products. Lely's irrigation sales manager, Robert Jackson, says he's delighted by the GTI system's relaunch, having already seen to its successful installation at over 100 of the UK's leading golf clubs and sports and amenity settings.

"Already a popular and proven product, GTI's relaunch couldn't be more timely for customers seeking an irrigation system that performs both efficiently and economically," he comments. "Not only does the system meet the needs of new constructions and installations, but it's also fully compatible with other irrigation systems and so is ideal for repairs and renovations."

Robert says that such remedial work can improve an existing system's efficiency by around 20 per cent. "By repairing or renovating, customers can make significant savings on ongoing operating costs as well as save on the expense of a new installation - something that makes perfect financial sense in these tough times."
