Steven, who began his role as sales manager last month, says his key focus will be to develop tractor sales and additional dealer locations outside of the golf sector.

Commenting on what attracted him to the role, Steven says: "TYM is a brand that has been in the UK for a number of years now and has real potential to cement itself as a key player in the compact tractor market.

"Along with having the chance to represent TYM, I was also keen to work for a company like Lely Turfcare, which has an enviable reputation in the industry."

Continuing, he explains a little about his approach to the new role: "I'm interested in the challenge to grow the business, particularly into markets currently not reached. As well as boosting sales, one of my primary goals will be to establish a bigger dealer network, which will include new dealer outlets that serve a broader customer base, such as the hobby farmer or small holder, the equestrian customers and also large private houses and estates. The TYM product range has models that are perfectly suited to meet and exceed the expectations of all of these customers."

With over 20 years' built up in the groundcare and agricultural markets, alongside qualifications in Sports Turf Management, Amenity Horticulture and Spraying, Steven hopes his extensive experience will allow him to relate to customers from many perspectives, including dealerships, end users and those from a multitude of groundcare sectors.

David Cole, Lely Turfcare managing director, agrees: "Steven is a highly experienced and knowledgeable addition to the team. With a keen understanding of the industry from the customer, dealership and distributor point of view, we're confident he'll do fantastically well in his new role."

Joining the TYM team directly from agricultural and groundcare machinery distributor RECO, which ceased trading in January, Steven comments on his career history: "I started off my career as a greenkeeper at Stockley Park Golf Club in 1995, and from there I moved into product sales roles, both on the dealership and distributor sides, and then went on to work at RECO, where I progressed from product specialist to training and dealer development manger and more recently to area sales manager," he says.

Based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, Steven will be overseeing all national TYM sales and managing a highly experienced team of two, including Scott Turner, TYM product manager, responsible for the day to day dealer account management and Steve Dacey, TYM product specialist, responsible for dealer and end user product demonstrations and technical support.
