The latest club to engage Greg Evans Golf Course Solutions to advise on course maintenance has seen the condition of their golf course make remarkable strides.
"I received an email from the Chairman of Green, at Coventry Hearsall Golf Club, with the words 'the advances we have seen over the past six or seven weeks have been truly unbelievable'.
That demonstrates that my methods have an immediate impact on a course's playability and, from my own experiences as Course Manager at Ealing Golf Club, I know these results can be sustained and improved upon," explained Greg.
Greg became known within the greenkeeping industry five years ago as the man at the centre of "The 2mm Debate" but his success in maintaining Ealing's greens at a level of 11 on the stimpmeter, all year every year since 2006, has defied his critics and encouraged an increasing number of golf clubs to engage his services.
"My aim is to produce and maintain Captain's Day quality greens 365 days a year, and I put together a full maintenance programme based on scientific data such as organic matter levels and compaction layers," said Greg, who achieved Master Greenkeeper status in 2010.
Greg combines his Consultancy work with his role as Course Manager of Ealing Golf Club, in West London, and is happy for anyone to contact him to arrange a visit to Ealing to see what can be achieved using his methods on a regular parkland members' club.
Greg's consultancy has seen him advise in nine counties across the country in little under four years. This year new clients such as Sonning Golf Club and Cottesmore Golf and Country Club have come on board with conditions survey and course visits taking place.
