Make Mother's Day tree-mendous

Editorin Industry News

Don't be stumped for ideas this Mother's Day. Show your mum how much she's loved and appreciated by dedicating a native tree to her with the Woodland Trust.

Delight your mum with this unique, thoughtful gift and create a great excuse for a woodland walk together by dedicating a tree in a wood nearby, or a weekend away if you choose a wood further afield.

If your mum is sadly no longer with you, dedicating a tree could be a lovely way to remember her. All woods are peaceful, tranquil places, ideal for taking a moment to remember your loved ones.

You can dedicate a tree for a donation starting at just £15 in your choice of one of 50 specially selected woods across the UK. Some woods are newly planted so you can watch your tree grow, while others are mature and already offer cool, green canopies for woodland picnics.

Each tree is dedicated just once and comes with a personalised certificate, information about your chosen wood, and a map showing the dedicated area. You can dedicate a tree online right up until Mother's Day, so it's the perfect last minute gift, or you can choose to have your gift pack posted to you or your mum by donating in advance.

Stella Williams, from the Woodland Trust, said: 'Trees are living links between our past and our future, uniting generations. What more fitting way could there be to say thank you to your mother for the part she has played in your life and all the wonderful memories you have shared, than by dedicating a tree in her name.'

By choosing your gift from the Woodland Trust - the UK's leading woodland creation and conservation charity - you will be helping to protect and care for our woodland heritage and the wildlife it supports, as well as to create new native woods for future generations to enjoy.

All sites are open 365 days a year and are free to visit.

Dedicate a tree

A £15 donation allows the Woodland Trust to dedicate and care for a single tree. Individual trees aren't marked in any way but are in a designated dedication area in specially selected woodlands across the UK.

There is a choice of 6 certificate designs.

For each tree dedication you will receive either:

A) a printed personalised dedication certificate, attractive gift card, and wood information sheet showing the dedicated area - posted either to you or to an alternative recipient and address;

or

B) an online gift pack comprising personalised email; personalised downloadable certificate; and links to information about the selected wood including a downloadable wood information sheet - emailed to both you and your chosen recipient
