The second regional demo day by MAP Live again welcomed local authorities, contractors, sports venues and educational establishments with serious budgets to spend.
The series has always been planned as collaboration; with demonstrators now generously donating use of images to stress the interactive, action-packed nature of each day and its developed strap line Test the Best machines in Groundscare at regional demo days, the series enters its next phase of development.
As Jeff Walker from Gavin Jones (the leading grounds maintenance and landscape contractor) explained at Ardingly "The day has been brilliant, driving the Profihopper with a steering wheel makes it much easier to use. This is the first time on the Toro mower also but it looks a very good piece of equipment. I am looking forward to the talks later on." His colleague David Davies added "the whole day has been very insightful".
Keith Christian, Director of BAGMA, observed "It's admirable to see a new initiative, at a difficult time in our sector, giving buyers, dealers and manufacturers what they've been asking for over several years. All the participants - whether visiting, demonstrating or giving media support - are to be congratulated on their innovation and support for MAP Live."
"We support the concept of these regional shows," says Campey sales director Simon Gumbrill, whose seminar outlined the benefits of end-of-season pitch renovation using the Koro Field Top Maker. "Today shows the importance of local distributors supporting the event with global brands of equipment."
As Andrew Billing, Director of Eco Green Composters notes "We saw some excellent quality people at the second event in the MAP Live series and we are delighted to announce that we have already booked the third demo day on the basis of results achieved."
A wide range of sports were represented, with buyers from football, rugby, bowls, tennis, cricket, golf and hockey venues all present. Total budgets to spend on open space management at Map Live South on 15th May were again around £14 million. Over 30 machinery brands were represented.
With new exhibitors, visitors and speakers all lined up for the next events at Haydock on 5th June and Sedgefield on 19th June, we look forward to MAP Live North-West and North-East.
MAP Live 2013 is a series of regional events throughout the UK with the latest machinery in groundscare, live demonstrations, technical updates and visitors can earn cpd points. New to the North West event at Haydock is a breakfast seminar where different themes in groundscare will be discussed.
