Football fans will have the chance to pit their skills against a host of sporting greats in the Mark Harrod Crossbar Challenge at Grass Roots Live 2010.
Sporting legends including Graham Taylor, Steve Coppell, Ian Holloway and Alan Curbishley will all be on hand at the NEC to challenge all comers at the event in June.
It is the second time Mark Harrod Ltd, one of the UK's leading sports manufacturers, has sponsored the popular event, which will see would-be football stars from 3 to 93 trying their luck.
As well as supplying all the goals at the exhibition, from June 4-6, Mark Harrod Ltd will also showcase its Soccerena, an indoor 15m x 10m indoor pitch, which will allow visitors to re-enact their favourite goals.
Mark Harrod says: "The Cross Bar Challenge will not only be great fun but also create an experience you'll never forget. Plus it will be an excellent opportunity to be spotted as the next Cristiano Ronaldo by football managers."
The three-day footballing extravaganza will also see Mark Harrod Ltd, which has a strong record in goal post safety, display its latest innovation, the NetLok©.
The groundbreaking system, is a trio of clips that slot into aluminium goalposts and crossbars to provide unbeatable net security.
The NetLok© was designed for heavy use facilities and especially on freestanding goals used on synthetic or academy pitches.
Mark Harrod said: "Traditional net hooks have always been a headache for groundsmen when using freestanding goals. They can twist and turn with every goal
before finally falling off and creating an instant safety hazard. Finding and replacing them is a time-consuming and frustrating task."
Grass Roots Live gives visitors extraordinary access to the country's top-flight coaches and managers who share their experiences and divulge their trade secrets.
Alongside coaching demos, lively discussion and hot debate is the UK's biggest football exhibition with everything needed to run a football club and team. And young players can spend the day in the Skills Zone receiving expert coaching.
Mark Harrod, who has more than 30 years experience as a manufacturer and supplier of sports equipment, is a leading advocate of sports safety with all equipment conforming to the latest British and European Standards.
As well as sponsoring grassroots events from the Staffordshire County Youth Cup to the Birmingham County FA Sunday Youth Cup, the Mark Harrod Ltd name can be seen at clubs including Chelsea FC, Birmingham FC and Leiceister FC.
