Press Release

One of the best known and respected salesmen in the business, Mike Lincoln-Smith, has decided to retire from Hayter at the end of April.

Starting as an apprentice agricultural engineer at Eastern Counties Farmers in Aylesham almost 40 years ago, he then became a salesman, covering the Diss area. Always looking for new challenges he took up a position in Ipswich with Vicon Spreaders as Publicity Manager. In the early 1980s he joined Turners where he was extremely successful in selling pedestrian and tractor mounted flails throughout the South East. After a spell as an Area Manager for Ransomes, he joined Hayter in 1992 where he has been ever since. Mike's thorough knowledge of engineering, both from a theoretical and practical perspective, has always meant that he has been heavily involved in product development as well as sales.

Mike has had many and varied interests outside of work. An accomplished sailor he is qualified to instruct in all aspects of the sport. He is a keen golfer although often other activities like motorcycling and building and driving kit cars would take precedence. Where he has found the time for his other interests, DIY and photography, is anybody's guess. Running the marathon when he was 50 years old was another of his accomplishments. With all Mike's interests the word retirement is probably not the most apt!
