New Forward Arm FALCON improves visibility

Press Release

BOMFORD has introduced a new forward arm version of its successful FALCON flail mower, designed to provide greater operator visibility over the flail head.

The forward arm option is available on only the Falcon 5.0m and 5.5m reach versions, where the additional 1.5m long arm brings the head forward to alongside the cab.

The Forward Arm Falcon can be mounted using either an axle bracket or a three-point quick hitch system. This makes it suitable not only for tractors, but other utility type vehicles. One particular option that has particularly successful is to use the new Forward Arm Falcon mounted on the back of a Merlo Multifarmer materials handler. With its hydrostatic transmission, good visibility and four-wheel steering the Merlo has proven to be an ideal power unit and allows the versatility of this machine to be fully utilised

For transport, the design of the Forward Arm system enables the head to be moved back and folded-in within the overall width of the carrying vehicle.

The Forward Arm Falcon can be specified with either a 1.2m or 1.5m wide Pro-Cut flail head, which features a double helix rotorshaft to which a wide range of flail types can be fitted.

The Forward Arm Falcon has its own self-contained 250 litre hydraulic oil tank, with the option of a cooler. Two hydraulic pumps deliver a total of 125 litres/minute, with 65hp going to the flail head, which is driven by three 'vee' belts.

As standard, the Forward Arm Falcon is controlled using a low friction cable control system, but for greater functionality and ease of use the Bomford electro-hydraulic Digital Control Unit (DCU) or EPPII proportional electronic controls can be specified.
