GM 5910.jpgToro introduces the next generation of its industry-leading range of wide-area rotary mowers - the new Groundsmaster 5900 Series in the form of the 5900 and 5910 models, which boast cutting widths of 4.9 metres.

Benefiting from an all-new design, Toro says that the new Groundsmaster 5900 Series redefines productivity. Both models are equipped with an ultra-powerful and efficient 99hp Cummins turbo diesel engine, which enables them to mow at an impressive rate of five hectares (12.5 acres) an hour - that's one whole hectare (two-and-a-half acres) in less than 15 minutes!

Moreover, for maximum efficiency, operators can mow between objects or along narrower areas by raising either the left or right wing decks as well as the front decks of the 5900 Series mowers. The cutting units can also be set between 2.5 and 15.2cm (1 to 6in) to handle a variety of conditions.

And, whether time spent mowing is short or long, Toro has ensured that being on board the 5900 or 5910 is a pleasure instead of a chore, thanks to some fantastic operator-comfort features. Both come as standard with an ergonomic, four-way adjustable seat featuring air-ride suspension, which adjusts to the user's desired firmness for maximum comfort. Controls are also logically organised, with the seat-mounted ControlHub offering easy fingertip access at arm's reach.

For additional comfort, the Groundsmaster 5910 is available as standard with an integrated, climate-controlled cab complete with heating and air-conditioning. Offering four-post ROPS rollover protection with tempered glass, this cutting-edge cab also provides 360 degrees of visibility.

Finally, Toro has given the Groundsmaster 5900 Series brains as well as brawn in the form of the InfoCenter, a unique diagnostics system that acts as an on-board mechanic to ensure the mowers remain in tip-top condition. During normal operation, the InfoCenter displays clear and simple operating information at a glance while constantly monitoring the internal health of the machine. Should a problem arise, audible and visible alarms alert the operator and then aid technicians in identifying the source and solution when the mower is back in the workshop.
