0 New John Deere mowers pick up good vibrations

JD vibration mnower

John Deere has introduced a new, exclusive anti-vibration system (AVS) for the handlebars on its 52cm (21in) commercial walk-behind mower range. This is designed to offer local authority, public utility and private contractor users all-day, stress-free operation, and will be a standard feature on 2007 production models.

Special vibration absorbing elements are attached to each side of the handlebar to reduce hand-arm vibration. With these elements, the mowers meet the latest EU and HSE directives on operator safety. The officially recorded daily vibration exposure level of 2.5m/s2 ensures that operators can work a full eight hour day safely. This level is a reduction of 30 per cent on equivalent mowers that do not have the AVS system fitted.

There are three commercial walk-behind models, each powered by a 6.5hp petrol engine, with overhead valveJD Vibration handles technology employed on the C52VK model. The single speed C52TS features side discharge and a bigger 5.7 litre fuel tank, while the variable speed C52VK and C52T rear discharge machines feature the exclusive TurboStarTM mowing system, which provides increased cut quality in wet and dry conditions.

The deeply contoured mower deck combines with the TurboJet blade and fan to create an efficient airflow that lifts, cuts and throws even long, thick and damp grass into the collection bag. Cutting height is easily adjustable without the need for tools, and a unique bag fill indicator tells the operator immediately when the bag needs emptying.

All-round durability when working in tough conditions is enhanced by the steel-reinforced cast aluminium deck, steel/aluminium wheels, hardened TurboJet blade and reinforced 75 litre grass bag. An optional mulching kit is available for all models.
