New Remote Pressed into Service

Terrain's new Remote Teralift machine, launched at Saltex has been pressed into service just one week following the show.

Under contract to Pantiles Nurseries the company employed their lightweight (80 kilos) pedestrian member of the Airforce fleet on two waterlogged back gardens at a two year old housing development in Aldenham near Watford North London.

Terrain's M D David Green, who designed and built the new machine, says that it was satisfying to put his latest concept into practice. "Both gardens had standard width garden gates, which the Remote, at 60 cms wide accessed with ease," he reports. "The machine was designed for situations such as these and it's good to know it's passed the test."

The company worked at two metre centres on a staggered grid pattern, injecting compressed air, one metre below the lawned surfaces on both gardens. Dried, milled seaweed was injected on the final air blast to add nutrients and, as it swells when wet; keep the newly created underground fractures, fissures and air channels open.
