Powered by a 42hp turbocharged diesel engine with intercooler for optimum mowing performance, particularly on hilly terrain, this machine shares many of its advanced features with the new 7000 and 8000 Series PrecisionCut fairway mowers (see separate release).
These include a servo-controlled hydrostatic pump with increased oil flow for extra traction, and the standard GRIP all-wheel drive traction system. This is permanently engaged when mowing to minimise wheel slip and maximise traction in difficult conditions.
Easily lifted and lowered by a single lever joystick, the rotary decks are constructed of 10-gauge steel, each with two 5in wide front rollers and a solid rear roller for an attractive striping effect. A double yoke mounting system pivots at the rear of the decks, as well as at the end of the lift arms, for improved contour following.
A patented down pressure system also keeps the rear rollers in contact with the turf, to provide consistent cut height and quality. Cutting height can be adjusted quickly and easily without the use of tools, from 1 to 4in in ¼in increments. Options include a mulching kit, rear roller scrapers and alternative blades.
Operator comfort has been enhanced on this new mower by providing increased legroom and visibility, a wider operator platform and John Deere's

Additional features include patented dual pedal foot controls, a standard ROPS and seat belt for added safety, a work light kit for early morning and late evening mowing, a large capacity oil cooler and an 18gal fuel tank for all-day operation. Cruise control is available as an option.
