Rochford Garden Machinery, one of John Deere's biggest homeowner dealers, based in Wincanton, Somerset, has recently opened a new £2.5 million premises close to its old site on the outskirts of the town.
The new building covers 57,000sq ft on a 3.5-acre site, and houses all the company's facilities under one roof, including the workshop, warehouse, large showroom, offices, conference and training room and parts distribution centre. The range of stock available is worth over £3,000,000.
It has been nearly two and a half years in the making and dealer principal Peter Rochford has been instrumental in designing the new premises, and has overseen its development from start to finish.
Rochfords was established by Peter Rochford in 1978 and the dealership was appointed as a John Deere professional commercial & consumer equipment dealer in 1995 to cover Devon , Somerset and West Dorset . In addition to the John Deere professional division the company has a wholesale division covering the south of England and a retail division that covers a 30-mile radius.
"We also supply 15 associated dealers with John Deere equipment, and supply about 70 golf courses in our area. The new premises will enable us to run a much neater operation and provide a first class service to our customers whilst continuing to expand our trading area," adds Mike.
Rochford Garden Machinery supplies John Deere's full range of machinery from products for the homeowner market, including walk-behind and hand-held mowers, to professional golf & turf and lawn & grounds care equipment, from ride-on mowers to compact tractors.
