North Staffs Irrigation provide liquid refreshment at Caldy

The recent installation of a brand new irrigation system has left both the course and its members refreshed at Caldy Golf Club.

Using Hunter G75B gear drive sprinklers with a double-valved system, North Staffs Irrigation have totally replaced the irrigation supply to all 18 greens and three tees at the championship course on the Wirral.

But it wasn't just the turf needing liquid refreshment! A drinking fountain has also been installed on the 13th tee, for use by the Club's 800 members and the many visitors that will play the picturesque course over the summer.

North Staffs Irrigation has been working with the Club for the past five years. This new installation forms part of a major renovation programme that has been taking place at the Club, whose course features a combination of undulating parklands and cliff-top heathland links. Following the announcement that neighbouring Royal Liverpool, another recent contract for North Staffs, is to host the 2006 Open, Caldy is also looking forward to welcoming the influx of golf enthusiasts who will be descending upon the Wirral for the championships.

Newly appointed Course Manager Carl Crocher said: "North Staffs Irrigation have been maintaining the irrigation system here for some time, so when the time came to replace it we were confident that they were right for the job."
