Notts Sport, a leading supplier of synthetic sports surfacing systems, is supporting the development of hockey at grassroots and junior level.
The company is sponsoring the Leicestershire and Rutland Hockey Association (LRHA) Schools and Youth for the next three years, providing thousands of pounds to support junior training which will help identify and develop the talent of the future.
LRHA Schools and Youth runs a structured programme of Junior Development Centres which help all junior hockey players - boys and girls from Under 13s to Under 17s - receive coaching and enable them to progress to Junior Academy Centres and then on to Regional and National Squads.
The Junior Development Centres are the first stage in England Hockey's Single System, which forms the centrepiece of its national long term vision for hockey.
Shaun Patrick, Chairman of Notts Sport, says: "Notts Sport is a big backer of grassroots sports, and so it is a real delight to be sponsoring LRHA Schools and Youth for the next three years.
"Hockey is one of only a few Olympic team sports, so London 2012 will provide a unique opportunity to enhance hockey's profile and attract new players to the sport.
"Here at Notts Sport we are keen to help hockey in England make the most of this opportunity by supporting England Hockey's vision for the future at a local level."
With its years of experience designing, advising on and supplying artificial surfacing systems for a range of sports, Notts Sport is ideally suited to help the development of hockey both for new build projects or for the resurfacing of existing hockey facilities.
The unique Notts Sport service proposal means that schools, clubs and all customers can use the company's 26 years of experience without incurring any development and design fees. This gives customers the best chance possible of securing planning and external consents, while safe in the knowledge that the entire hockey pitch design will be completed to the highest standards possible.
Artificial hockey pitches can be designed to suit all needs, from providing training grounds for coaching and junior games, to delivering the best playing characteristics for top class match action. Notts Sport's design service ensures that all aspects of the project can factored in during planning and development, including all fencing, floodlighting and associated features required for each customer.
Shaun commented: "Our unique approach to designing and supplying artificial hockey pitch systems offer a host of benefits to schools and hockey clubs and, whatever the needs of our clients, Notts Sport can provide a tailor-made solution to help."
