Sales Representative David Sear will be responsible for delivering Notts Sport designed artificial pitches for coaching, practice and matchplay across the southern counties as interest in the game at grass-roots level continues to gather pace.

David (54), from Canterbury, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having worked as first development officer for the Kent Cricket Board for nearly 15 years.
The former PE teacher also coaches the Kent Under 11s girls' side and boasts the impressive record of having nurtured most of the county's current senior women's XI - the strongest county side in England.

With his in-depth knowledge of the game, David adds further expertise to the highly successful Notts Sport team, and he is relishing his new role.

"As a member of the ECB Coaching Association, I know that there's nothing worse than not having decent practice facilities available when you're trying to increase participation in the game," he says.

"I'm in a unique position in my new job, because I've gone from promoting the concept of playing cricket to raising awareness among clubs, schools and local authorities about the improvements that Notts Sport can deliver for the good of the game.

"Now I'm looking forward to making sure that our fantastic range of top-quality facilities can reach the areas that really need them."

Mark Coeshaw, Head of Cricket for Notts Sport, adds: "David knows the grass-roots game inside out and we're delighted to welcome someone with his level of experience to the team. I'm confident he can help us take our operation in the south of England to a whole new level."

Notts Sport has been producing synthetic sports surfaces for more than 26 years and has successfully marked itself out as the world's leading supplier of non-turf cricket pitch systems for coaching, practice and matchplay.

The company offers five synthetic pitches approved by the England and Wales Cricket Board, including the NottsBase D System and the Envelope System - along with a range of portable mats for indoor and outdoor use.

Notts Sport products are designed for players of all ages and abilities and provide consistent playing performance and quality combined with outstanding durability.
The low-maintenance NottsBase D System is the one ECB-approved synthetic pitch surface that can be laid directly on a grass square, while the Envelope System provides a realistic alternative to a well-maintained grass pitch.

Systems are adjusted to suit each individual client's maintenance capability, lifespan and performance requirements to provide a truly 'tailored' facility.
