Local knowledge goes a long way in grass roots football - and when Lutterworth Soccer Centre decided the time was right for a revamp, Notts Sport was only too happy to help.
The Centre wanted to swap the grass pitches for fantastic new facilities to encourage five-a-side football whatever the time or the weather.
And so as sponsors of Lutterworth Town FC, Notts Sport helped design not just one new synthetic training pitch, but assisted in the development of a new soccer centre and specialist coaching facility, comprising four new synthetic five a-side / futsal pitches, perimeter and internal fencing, floodlights and equipment.
The design and specification of the soccer centre project included full drainage works and re-modelling of the existing topography, with Leicestershire-based Dura-Sport, an approved Notts Sport installer, carrying out the groundwork and fitting the synthetic pitch systems after winning a competitive tender for the contract.
Lutterworth's new Soccer Centre received great acclaim at its launch, with Leicester City legends Steve Walsh, Muzzy Izzet, Matt Elliott and Gerry Taggart testing out the pitches and giving them the thumbs-up. A full local five-a-side league programme kicked off the following month.
Club owners Terry and Martha Matthews praised the team effort shown by the Leicestershire companies and organisations. "They worked together wonderfully to deliver a much-needed, high-quality community sports facility at an affordable price," adds Martha.
"Notts Sport is a great supporter of grass-roots football, and has sponsored Lutterworth Town FC since 2006.
"In addition to the new synthetic pitches, we have also created a new club house for Lutterworth FC and five-a-side league users, and on the same site there's a tennis club, dance studio, bowls club and a Montessori school.
"It's fast becoming a real focal point for the community and surrounding villages, and we are thrilled with the enthusiasm with which people of all ages have received the new Lutterworth Soccer Centre."
