Lancashire boss Jim Cumbes slammed the decision to abandon England's Twenty20 international without aball being bowled.
Almost 20,000 paying punters were left with nothing to shout about last night as a two-metre damp patch on the bowler's run-up saw the game called off.
The ECB launched an immediate inquiry to fi nd out why rain had leaked on to the Old Trafford playing surface and whether more could have been done to play the game.
Lancashire chief executive Cumbes claimed umpires Peter Hartley and Nigel Llong should have done more to prevent the second Twenty20 abandonment in three days.
