RCT - HO Paladins.jpgRecession or not, Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council are not prepared to let standards slip on their grounds. They took delivery of 31 Lloyds Paladin TG Fine Turf Mowers earlier this year to manage the turf maintenance of the bowling greens, cricket pitches along with their pitch and putt course.

The Paladins were supplied by Lloyds & Co Letchworth to Hire One in Pontyclun Glamorgan, who lease them out to Rhondda Cynon Taff Council with a full maintenance and backup service.

"We have always had Paladins and the council has continued to operate them elsewhere in the region, but I wanted to compare them with other fine turf mowers on the market." said Parks Officer Geraint Jenkins "Its important to be aware of what else is out there so we ensure we are getting the best value for the investment we commit to maintenance."

"Geoff Roberts, Lloyds Area Sales Manager has been a great help" said Geraint. "He allowed us to trial a new Paladin machine alongside alternative mowers and provided on site backup whenever we needed it answered all our questions on operating technique, set up or other adjustments."

"We chose to opt for only using only Paladins because the others just couldn't achieve the same finish. All of the operators agreed that the Paladins were the easiest to use, lighter and most significantly carried less vibration through to the operator."

Since taking delivery of Lloyds Paladins Geraint Jenkins reports that there have been only positive comments from the greens staff, bowls club members and the general public who regularly use the wide range of facilities.
