Parks staff in Fife banned from cutting grass on slopes

Fife Council employees cannot use a mower on a incline of more than 15 degrees in case it topples over and falls on them.

But the decision by Fife Council, which was made to meet health and safety regulations, has left some local people furious about the uncut grass.

Fife Council's parks and countryside manager Jim Hooton said: "Fortunately, we've had no serious injuries here in Fife, although there have been four reported instances of mowers overturning within parks and countryside in recent years.
