Ormskirk RUFC has been selected as one of only 48 clubs nationwide to have won a pitch consultation by Keith Kent, the RFU Head Groundsman, along with £2,000 to help implement Keith's recommendations

The pitch consultation will take place in April when Keith will visit the club and walk the pitch to discuss the issues and challenges that are being experienced.

Keith will then identify solutions to help and these will be outlined in a short report.

The report will be used by the club to help plan and refine their programme for the NatWest RugbyForce Weekend and identify items that the grant will be spent on.

Last year's programme was a great success with just over 600 clubs and 20,000 volunteers across England taking part in the DIY weekend in June.

This year's RugbyForce Weekend will take place at the club on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26.

The club is calling on local organisations who could help with the pitch development and also members of the public who could volunteer to help clean, paint and help with repairs over the weekend to get in touch with Nick Jacobs, President of Ormskirk Rugby or the Match Day Manager Ritchie 'Taff' Gibbon.
