The League Two Groundsman of the Year award has gone to Plymouth Argyle's Billy White.

The prizes for each of the three divisions in The Football League are determined initially using marks from referees and away managers for each game.

That is then followed by detailed pitch inspections and a review of management operations.

A Football League spokesman said: "These awards recognise the importance of the quality of pitches for professional football and acknowledge those head groundsmen and their staff who consistently produce the best playing surfaces."

In a division where some pitches have been truly dreadful this season, the playing surface at Home Park has stood out and White was a worthy winner of the award.

Highly commended in the League Two Groundsman of the Year category were David Mitchell of Carlisle United and Northampton Town's Paul Knowles.
